This is why we developed a mobile application called Txt2Lock.
Txt2Lock is a security application which enables the user to remotely lock the handset simply by sending an SMS message to their handset upon discovering a loss or theft. Not only does the resulting lock bar the handset from unauthorised use but also encrypts and protects the files and data both on the handset and the memory card.

Txt2Lock currently supports Symbian s60 2nd and 3rd edition handsets, including the latest Nokia N and E series handsets.
Information Mobile are currently working on developing Txt2Lock for other operating systems including Windows Mobile which will be more customisable in terms of protecting certain API sets in companies VPN networks and protecting files. We will also be adding the ability to remotely back up files to a central based server for added security.
